Santa fe broiled chicken with green chilies

Ingredients

| 2 | Cloves garlic | |
| 1 | can | (4-oz.) chopped green chilies |
| 1 | Fresh jalapeno pepper; deveined and seeded | |
| 2 | tablespoons | Cilantro |
| 3 | tablespoons | Olive oil |
| 3 | tablespoons | Lemon juice |
| ½ | teaspoon | Ground cumin |
| ¼ | teaspoon | Black pepper |
| 1 | teaspoon | Salt |
| 4 | Chicken broiler halves or 8 quarters | |
Directions
Place garlic, green chilies, jalapeno pepper, cilantro, olive oil, lemon juice,cumin, pepper and salt in blender. Puree until quite smooth, leaving a few large pieces as they will char under the broiler Spread over chicken and marinate for 1 hour. Drain excessive marinade from chicken and reserve.
Preheat broiler with rack 6 inches from heat. Place pieces bone side up in shallow broiling pan lined with heavy duty foil. Broil chicken for 8 minutes before turning and broil 5-6 minutes with skin side up. Brush with more marinade. Finish broiling more than 6 inches awayy from heat. Chicken should be crisp-browned and tender. Makes 4 servings.
