1 pack | Frozen chopped spinach |
1 pounds | Ground beef |
½ cup | Chopped onion |
1 \N | Clove garlic; minced |
1 tablespoon | Oil |
1 can | Spaghetti sauce with mushrooms |
1 can | Tomato paste |
1 can | Tomato sauce |
½ teaspoon | Salt |
¼ teaspoon | Pepper |
2 cups | Raw macaroni |
½ cup | Soft bread |
2 \N | Eggs; well beaten |
1 cup | Liquid |
¼ cup | Salad oil |
Cook spinach as directed on package, drain liquid & add enough water to make 1 cup (save liquid). Brown beef with onion & garlic in 1 Tbs oil. Add spaghetti sauce, tomato paste, tomato sauce, salt & pepper to meat mixture & simmer 10 minutes. Boil macaroni just until tender; drain & combine with bread, eggs, reserved liquid & oil plus the spinach. Spread in a 9x13-inch baking pan & cover with meat mixture. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting into squares.
