|1 cup||Brown sugar|
|1 teaspoon||Maple flavoring|
|½ teaspoon||Baking powder|
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat sugar, shortening, egg & maple flavoring until fluffy. Stir in dry ingredients and mix well. Add coconut. Drop by spoonfuls on ungreased sheet. Dip bottom of greased glass into granulated sugar and press cookie flat. Edges will be ragged. Bake for about 10-12 minutes - until lightly browned. Makes 3 dozen.
