Potatoes with poppy seeds

Ingredients

| 6 | smalls | Firm potatoes |
| 6 | tablespoons | Oil |
| 3 | eaches | Whole red chiles |
| ½ | cup | White poppy seeds, ground |
| ½ | teaspoon | Turmeric |
| ¼ | teaspoon | Cayenne |
| 1 | teaspoon | Salt |
| 3 | eaches | Fresh hot green chiles |
Directions
Peel & dice potatoes.
Heat oil in a non-stick skillet. When hot, put in the potatoes & fry till they are golden brown, stirring frequently. When they are golden, remove & set aside.
Put red chiles into the oil, when they darken, add poppy seeds & 2 tb water. Stir & saute until the paste browns. Put in the potatoes, ¾ c water & the spices. Stir to mix & simmer, covered, for 10 minutes.
