Picquant black bean & red tomato salsa

| 3 | Cloves garlic -- minced | |
| 2 | Jalapeno peppers -- seeded & | |

| 1 | tablespoon | Cilantro -- minced |
| 2 | teaspoons | Lime juice |
| 1½ | teaspoon | Ground cumin |
| 1 | teaspoon | Dried oregano |
| ¼ | teaspoon | Black pepper |
| ¼ | teaspoon | Salt |
| ⅛ | teaspoon | Cayenne pepper |
| 2 | cups | Canned crushed tomatoes |
| 1 | cup | Black beans -- drained |
Directions
Combine all ingredients except crushed tomatoes and black beans in large bowl and blend well. Place ¾ of the mixture in food processor and process for 5 seconds, creating a vegetable mash.
Return the mash to the bowl, add the crushed tomatoes and beans and blend again. Cover the bowl tightly and chill for at least 1 hour, allowing the flavors to meld together.
