| Quantity | Ingredient | |
|---|---|---|
| ½ | cup | Shortening (half butter or margarine) |
| ½ | cup | Peanut butter |
| ½ | cup | Granulated sugar |
| ½ | cup | Brown sugar; packed |
| 1 | Egg | |
| 1¼ | cup | All-purpose flour |
| ½ | teaspoon | Baking powder |
| ¾ | teaspoon | Soda |
| ¼ | teaspoon | Salt |
Directions
Mix shortening, peanut butter, sugars, and egg thoroughly. Measure flour by dipping method or by sifting. Blend all dry ingredients; stir into shortening mixture. Chill dough 1 hour. Heat oven to 375F. Using cooky press with star plate, make 2½" fingers. Bake 8 to 10 minutes. When cool, dip one end (or both) in melted chocolate (4 small plain chocolate bars), then in ¾ cup salted peanuts, crushed.
NOTES : I use milk chocolate chips in place of the chocolate bars for dipping.
