Patty ann's rum dainties

Measure Ingredient
1 cup 4x sugar
3 tablespoons White Karo syrup
2⅓ tablespoon Cocoa
3 cups Vanilla wafers--crushed
1 cup Finely chopped nuts
3 ounces Rum (more or less to taste)

To make crumbs, put wafers in plastic bag and roll with rolling pin. Pour into bowl and mix above ingredients, adding rum last. Shape into balls about 1" in diameter. Roll in 4x sugar and chill. This mixture is sticky, so keep fingers and palms of hands dusted with 4x sugar while shaping cookies. Store in tin box between layers of wax paper. Submitted By BILL SPALDING On 12-18-94
