Oven-baked eggnog french toast

| 1 | Loaf italian or french bread | |
| 4 | Eggs | |
| 1 | cup | Half & half |
| 3 | tablespoons | Sugar |
| 1 | teaspoon | Vanilla |
| ⅛ | teaspoon | Ground nutmeg |
| Powdered sugar | ||
Directions
Cut bread crosswise into 16 slices. Grease 2 large cookie sheets. Place bread slices on sheets. In a large bowl, beat eggs with half & half, sugar, vanilla and nutmeg until blended. Pour mixture over bread in pan, turning slices occasionally to coat both sides and until all mixture is absorbed.
Preheat oven to 500 degrees. Bake 8-10 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
