Oil-free granola

Ingredients

1cupWheat flakes
1cupRye flakes
1cupBran
½cupRaisins
½cupDried apricots; chopped
½cupDates; chopped
1cupDried apples; chopped
½cupCashews; chopped
½cupSunflower seeds; raw
½cupHoney; raw
½cupWater; hot
1tablespoonVanilla

Directions

Recipe by: McDougall Combine all dry ingredients, fruits and nuts in a large bowl. In another bowl, mix the honey, hot water and vanilla.

Add to dry ingredients and mix well. Spread a ½ inch layer on baking dished and bake in a 250 degree oven for one hour, stirring occasionally. Remove from oven, let cool. Store in covered containers.

HELPFUL HINTS: Nuts may be omitted, use more wheat or rye flakes.
