Mississippi mud bars

Measure Ingredient

1 cup Butter or margarine
¼ cup Cocoa
2 cups Sugar
4 eaches Eggs
1½ cup Flour
½ teaspoon Baking powder
2 teaspoons Vanilla
1 cup Chopped nuts
1 each Bag miniature marshmallows

Melt butter or margarine in saucepan; in bowl, combine sugar w/ eggs and add to saucepan. Sift together flour, baking powder and a pinch of salt; add to mixture and blend. Add vanilla and nuts. Pour into a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan and bake at 350 for 30 minutes.

While still hot from oven, cover w/ marshmallows. Frost immediately.

Frosting: ½ cup butter or margarine ½ cup evaporated milk ½ cup cocoa 1 tsp. vanilla 1 (16-ounce) package powdered sugar Beat all ingredients together in order given until smooth. Spread over hot cake w/ marshmallows. Yield: about 24 squares.
