Merry meringue christmas cookies

Ingredients

2 | Egg whites; at room temp | |
⅛ | teaspoon | Salt |
⅛ | teaspoon | Cream of tartar |
¾ | cup | Sugar |
½ | teaspoon | Vanilla extract |
1 | cup | Semisweet chocolate chips |
1 | cup | Chopped nuts |
3 | tablespoons | Crushed peppermint candy |
Directions
Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Lightly grase two or more baking sheets. Using an electric mixer, beat the egg whites in a med bowl until foamy. Add the salt and cream of tartar and continue beating until soft peaks form. Add the sugar, 1 tbsp at a time, beating well after each addition. Continue beating until the meringue is stiff. Fold in the vanilla extract, chocolate chips, nuts and candy. Drop by tspful ½ inch apart, onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake 40 mins. Remove to a cake rack to cool.
