Lamb pilaf (baranini pilaff)

| 3 | pounds | Lamb breast, boned and cubed |
| 3 | tablespoons | Butter |
| 3 | Onions, cut in half | |
| ¼ | teaspoon | Salt or more to taste |
| ¼ | teaspoon | Black pepper |
| 1½ | cup | Raw rice |
| 4 | cups | Hot water |
Directions
from:the wonderful World of cooking Saute lamb in butter for 5 minutes. Add onions, slt and peppers, stirring until very brown. Add water and rice. Mix. Cover. Bake at 300 deg for 2 hours. 6-8 servings.
