Measure Ingredient
8 ounces Butter
1 pounds Sugar
5 \N Eggs
12 ounces Flour
2 teaspoons Cream of tartar
1 pinch Salt
1 tablespoon Milk
1 teaspoon Bicarb. of soda
6 ounces Currants
1 teaspoon Lemon juice

Cream together butter and sugar, then add the beaten eggs, flour, cream of tartar and salt. Dissolve the bicarb. of soda in the milk and beat this in.

Finally add the lemon juice and currants. Pour into a greased pan and bake at 325 degrees for about 20 - 30 minutes.
