Kevin and linda nealon's delicious and simple chili

Ingredients

1tablespoonOlive oil
1largeOnion, diced
½eachGreen bell pepper, chopped
3cansCrushed tomatoes
2cansDark red kidney beans
3tablespoonsChili powder (or to taste)
1teaspoonSalt
1tablespoonSugar (optional)

Directions

Heat the olive oil in a very large frying pan or Dutch oven over medium heat. Saute the onions and pepper until tender, about 5 to 7 minutes.

Add the remaining ingredients and bring the mixture to a boil. Lower the heat and simmer, covered, for 1 hour.
