Ice cream with marsala and currants

Ingredients

¼cupDried currants
¼cupOrange juice
¼cupMarsala
2tablespoonsSugar
½Cinnamon stick
½teaspoonGrated orange peel
Vanilla ice cream
Amaretti or other cookies; crumbled

Directions

Combine first 6 ingredients in heavy small saucepan. Boil until syrupy, stirring frequently, about 10 minutes. Cool slightly. Discard cinnamon.

Scoop ice cream into bowls. Spoon warm currant mixture over ice cream.

Sprinkle with cookies and serve.

2 servings; can be doubled or tripled.
