Hungarian short ribs

| 4 | pounds | Short ribs -- with bones |
| 2 | mediums | Onions -- sliced |
| 1 | can | Tomato sauce -- 15 oz. |
| 2 | cups | Water -- divided |
| ¼ | cup | Packed brown sugar |
| ¼ | cup | Vinegar |
| 1½ | teaspoon | Salt |
| 1½ | teaspoon | Dry mustard |
| 1½ | teaspoon | Worcestershire sauce |
| ¼ | teaspoon | Paprika |
| Cooked wide noodles | ||
Directions
In a Dutch oven, heat oil over medium high. Brown ribs on all sides.
Add onion; cook until tender. Combine all remaining ingredients except noodles; pour over ribs. Reduce heat; cover and simmer until the meat is tender, about 3 hours. Thicken gravy if desired. Serve over noodles. Yield: 6-8 servings Recipe By : Country Woman
