Gritty rice crust

Measure Ingredient
1½ cup Prepared Gritty Rice

2 \N Egg whites; lightly beaten

This makes a good crust for a savory filling. If you'd like, add a teaspoon of dried herbs or some grated soy cheese to the crust.

Preheat the oven to 400ø.

Combine the Gritty Rice and egg whites in a mixing bowl. Press onto the bottom and up the sides of a nonstick or lightly oiled 9" pie pan.

Bake at 400ø for 15 minutes, until set and starting to turn golden. Remove from oven and fill with a savory pie or quiche filling and bake according to the recipe.
