German crisps

Yield: 4 Servings

Measure Ingredient
2 cups Brown sugar
1 cup Spry or margarine
2 Eggs
1 teaspoon Soda
3 cups Flour
1 teaspoon Vanilla
¼ teaspoon Salt
½ cup Chopped nuts

Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs. Beat well. Add soda and salt to flour. Add vanilla to creamed ingredients, then flour mixture and nuts.

Form into long rolls. Place in refrigerator overnight. Slice thin and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until light brown. Watch carefully that they don't get too brown. Keep long time or freeze.
