Fudgy saucepan brownies

Ingredients

| ¾ | cup | Butter | 
| 4 | ounces | Unsweetened chocolate | 
| 2 | cups | Sugar | 
| 4 | Eggs | |
| 1½ | cup | Flour | 
| ½ | teaspoon | Salt | 
| 1½ | teaspoon | Vanilla | 
| 1¾ | cup | Pecans -- chopped | 
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.  Melt butter and chocolate in a large, heavy saucepan over lowest heat.  Off heat, mix in remaining ingredients in order listed, beating well after each addition.  Pour batter into a greased 9x9 pan and bake 40 minutes until brownies just begin to pull away from sides of pan. Cool in pan on a rack before cutting.
