Fruit pies - crust

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
2 cups Flour -- sifted
¾ teaspoon Salt
¾ cup Shortening
6 tablespoons Ice water
Egg yolks, beaten -- for
Brushing

Directions

Sift the flour and salt into a bowl. Add the shortening with a pastry blender or 2 knives until the consistency of coarse sand.
