|1¼ cup||Flour, all-purpose|
|½ cup||Butter (or marg.); softened|
|⅓ cup||Sugar, powdered; sifted|
|1 teaspoon||Vanilla extract|
|⅔ cup||Dates; chopped|
|½ cup||Nuts; chopped|
|\N \N||Sugar, powdered|
Combine flour and salt. Cream butter until smooth; add ⅓ cup powdered sugar gradually, beating well. Add milk and vanilla, and stir in flour mixture. Add dates and nuts; mix well.
Roll into 1-inch balls and place about 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 300 degrees about 20 minutes or until lightly browned. Roll date balls in powdered sugar while warm.
