Fried crab canapes

Yield: 10 servings

Measure Ingredient
½ pounds Crabmeat, flaked
4 \N Water chestnuts, drained and finely chopped
1½ tablespoon Cornstarch
1 \N Egg, lightly beaten
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
¾ teaspoon Salt Dash tabasco
8 slices Day-old firm white bread, crusts removed Oil for frying

In bowl, combine crab, water chestnuts, cornstarch, egg, Worcestershire, salt, and tabasco. Cut each slice of bread into 4 triangles. Spread with crab misture. Preheat oil to 375 in deep fryer. Add bread triangles, crab side down. Fry 1 minute on each side. Drain on paper towels,; serve hot.
