Farmer's bran bread

Measure Ingredient
2 cups Flour
3 teaspoons Baking powder
½ teaspoon Baking soda
¼ cup Sugar
¾ teaspoon Salt
1 Egg
1 cup Bran
2 tablespoons Melted shortening
2 tablespoons Melted butter
1 cup Sour milk

Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar and salt in bowl. Beat egg, add sour milk and bran; stir to mix. Add melted shortening and stir into flour mixture. Place on floured board and roll to ½-inch thickness. Cut into rectangles 2 x 3 inches. Brush top with melted butter.
