These are the Greatest Cut-out cookies. I received the recipe from a lady friend of mine, who received it from her grandmother. Now it originally called for 'lard' instead of Crisco, for those of you that don't mind it.
But the other ½ cup has to be butter. I use the frosting recipe from the powdered sugar box and just use food coloring as needed.
Cream sugar, butter and Crisco. Add 2 eggs, mix well. Add remaining ingredients, mix well.
Roll out dough, use cookie cutters.
Bake at 325-350 degrees, about 8 to 10 minutes, but start checking at 6 minutes.
Cool and decorate with icing.
