Ingredients

1cupButter (or marg.); softened
½cupSugar
2teaspoonsVanilla extract; OR
½teaspoonAlmond extract
1tablespoonWater
cupFlour, all-purpose
1cupPecans; chopped or almonds
1teaspoonRed food coloring
Sugar

Directions

Combine butter, sugar, vanilla, water and flour; blend well. Add nuts and food coloring. Chill for several hours.

Shape into crescents or half-moons. Place on greased cookie sheets and bake at 300 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Do not let cookies brown. Roll in white or colored sugar.
