Ingredients

| 1 | cup | Butter (or marg.); softened |
| ½ | cup | Sugar |
| 2 | teaspoons | Vanilla extract; OR |
| ½ | teaspoon | Almond extract |
| 1 | tablespoon | Water |
| 2¼ | cup | Flour, all-purpose |
| 1 | cup | Pecans; chopped or almonds |
| 1 | teaspoon | Red food coloring |
| Sugar | ||
Directions
Combine butter, sugar, vanilla, water and flour; blend well. Add nuts and food coloring. Chill for several hours.
Shape into crescents or half-moons. Place on greased cookie sheets and bake at 300 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Do not let cookies brown. Roll in white or colored sugar.
