3 ounces | Sugar; (3/8 cup) |
4 ounces | Butter; (1/2 cup) |
2 \N | Eggs |
10 ounces | Flour; (2 1/4 cups) |
2 teaspoons | Baking powder |
1 teaspoon | Vanilla extract |
Cream sugar and butter, then beat in other ingredients. Chill dough three or four hours before rolling, for best results. Bake in 375 degrees F (Reg 5) oven for 7-12 minutes or until just golden. These can be glazed with a mixture of icing and a little milk and decorated as desired.
This dough can be cut out into seasonal shapes - bells, Christmas stars, trees, Easter eggs, etc. If possible, use a pastry cloth and flour the rolling pin before rolling our. Me ke aloha, Mary
