Christmas stockings

Measure Ingredient
1 cup Shortening (part butter)
½ cup Confectioners sugar
1 teaspoon Vanilla
½ teaspoon Almond extract 1/2 tsp. red or green food
\N \N Color
2¼ cup Flour
½ teaspoon Salt
9 \N Candied quartered cherries
¼ cup Broken nuts
¼ cup Semi sweet chocolate pieces
\N \N Easy Creamy Icing

Mix shortening, sugar, flavorings & color. Blend flour & salt; stir into shortening mixture. Chill 1 hour. Heat oven to 400. In palm of hand, pat 1 level Tbls. dough into oblong about 3* 1½". If dough seems too dry, carefully add a few drops of cream. Lengthwise down center, place "surprises"-2 chocolate pieces, 1 cherry quarter, 2 pieces of nuts. Mold dough around & shape into roll 3" long. Place on ungreased sheet, turning end of roll to form foot of stocking. Bake 10-12 minutes. Cool. Ice tops & toes.
