Cherry sorbet

Ingredients

cupSugar
poundsCherries, pitted
¼cupLemon juice
1tablespoonCherry brandy, optional2
2tablespoonsMaraschino cherries, diced, optional

Directions

Combine the water, sugar & pitted cherries in a non-corrosive pot & bring to a boil. Simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat & let cool. Puree the mixture in a food processor or blender & strain through a fine sieve to remove the skins. Combine this mixture with the rest of the ingredients. Freeze following the instructions for making Lemon Sorbet.
