Cheese spoon bread

Ingredients

| ¾ | cup | Corn meal |
| 1 | teaspoon | Salt |
| dash | Pepper | |
| 1 | tablespoon | Sugar |
| 1 | cup | Water |
| 2 | tablespoons | Fat |
| 2 | cups | Milk |
| ½ | pounds | Process cheese, sliced |
| 3 | eaches | Eggs, beaten |
Directions
In sauce pan mix corn meal, salt, pepper, sugar, water, fat, and 1 cup milk. Cook over medium heat until thick and boiling, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; add sliced cheese, reserving a few slices to put on top of mixture before baking. Stir until cheese melts.
Add remaining milk and beaten eggs. Pour into greased 1½ qt shallow baking dish. Put reserved slices of cheese on top. Bake at 325 F. until almost set, about 50 minutes. Serve immediately.
