Butterscotch brownies #2

Ingredients

1cupSifted flour
½teaspoonBaking powder
teaspoonBaking soda
½teaspoonSalt
½cupChopped nuts (i recommend walnuts)
cupButter or margarine
1cupBrown sugar
1Egg; slightly beaten
1teaspoonVanilla
½cupChocolate bits

Combine first five ingredients and set aside. Melt butter in saucepan, add brown sugar, mix well. Cool slightly. Add beaten egg and vanilla, blend.

Add flour mixture slowly, beating with each addition.

Spread in greased 9x9 inch pan. Sprinkle chocolate bits on top. Bake at 350 for 20 to 25 minutes. Do not overcook. Cool in pan. Cut into bars.
