Ingredients

1cupPlus 2 T flour
½teaspoonSalt
½teaspoonBaking soda
½cupButter, softened
¾cupFirmly packed dark brown sugar, or mix of brown and granulated sugar
½teaspoonVanilla extract
1Egg
½cupChopped pecans
1cupSemisweet chocolate chips

Directions

Preheat oven to 375oF. Sift flour, salt and baking soda together into mixing bowl. In separate bowl, cream butter, sugar and vanilla together until smooth; add egg and mix until smooth. Gradually add flour mixture to creamed mixture; beat well after each addition. Stir in pecans and chocolate chips.

Spread batter in greased, 8" square baking pan. Bake for 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool in pan, then cut into squares.
