Bess truman's ozark pudding

Yield: 4 Servings

Measure Ingredient
1 each Egg, beaten
¾ cup Sugar
⅓ cup Flour
½ cup Walnuts, chopped
1¼ teaspoon Baking powder
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
1 cup Heavy cream, whipped
1 each Cooking apple, peeled
4 tablespoons Rum
1 pinch Salt

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Beat the already beaten egg with sugar until light in color. In a seperate bowl, sift flour baking powder and salt. Blend with the egg mixture and fold in the apple, nuts, and vanilla. Pour into a greased shallow 1½ quart baking dish and bake 30 minutes. At serving time, whip the cream, flavor with rum and garnish the cooled pudding.
