Dissolve yeast in warm water in a large bowl. Cool milk mixture till warm, then add it to the dissolved yeast mix. Add beaten egg and 1½ cups of the flour, beat with spoon till smooth. Add the rest of the flour, then turn out on a floured surface, and knead till dough is satiny and elastic. Place in a greased bowl and let rise in a warm place till doubled in bulk. Use for cinnamon swirls, sweet rolls etc.
