Baked eggs with cheese(aunt b's)

Ingredients

4Eggs
1ounceButter
Pepper and salt
4ouncesCheddar cheese
2tablespoonsCream or top of milk

Directions

Grate about 1 oz of the cheeseand with a very sharp knife cut the remainder into wafer-thin slices.Spread the butter all over the bottom of a fire-proof dish.Cover with the thin slices of cheese.Break the eggs carefully on to the bed of cheese being carefully to not to disturb the yolks.Season with salt and pepper,put a spoonful of the cream on the top of each egg.Sprinkle over the grated cheese.Bake for 15 minutes in a hot oven 425 degrees F.(regulo 7)Brown under the grill.
