|2 cups||Granulated sugar|
|1 cup||Light corn syrup|
|2 cups||Walnuts; coarsely chopped|
|2 teaspoons||Baking soda|
Combine first 5 ingredients, cook over moderate heat, stirrings until sugar is dissolved. over and simmer for 5 minutes to wash crystals down from the sides of the pan. Uncover and boil unito hard crack stage. 300 deg. When candy reaches the hard crack stage, quickly stir in warm walnuts and soda.
Turn at once into ooiled jelly roll pan. 10x15x1 inch and spread thin. Let stand until cold then break into peices..
Makes about 2 pounds
