Traditional bolognese sauce

Yield: 8 cups

Measure Ingredient
1 pounds Lean ground beef
½ pounds Italian sausage, no casing
1 \N Onion, chopped
1 \N Glove garlic, crushed
1 small Carrot, grated
2 \N Stalks celery, chopped
1 can (28 oz) diced, peeled tomato
2 cans (6 oz) tomato paste
1 teaspoon Sugar
1 tablespoon Chopped fresh oregano
1 tablespoon Chopped fresh basil
1 teaspoon Salt
¼ teaspoon Pepper
½ cup Dry red wine
\N \N Cooked pasta
\N \N Parmesan cheese (optional)

Turn slow cooker on HIGH. Add ground beef and sausage. Cook and stir until meat is broken up into small pieces. Turn pot on LOW. Add remaining ingredients, except pasta and cheese. Cover and cook on LOW 8 to 9 hours. Make about 8 cups. Spoon over your favorite pasta.

Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
