⅔ cup | Milk |
6 tablespoons | Shortening |
½ cup | Sugar |
2 packs | Dry yeast |
1¼ teaspoon | Salt |
3 \N | Beaten eggs |
⅔ cup | Warm water |
6 cups | Sifted flour |
Scald milk, add sugar, shortening and salt. Cool. Prepare yeast water in bowl. Add milk mixture and eggs then add 3 cups flour, beat until smooth, add remainin flour. (If dough is sticky it will make a lighter roll). Let rise 1 to 2 hours. Divide dough in two. Roll into rectangle.
FILLING: Mix 1½ c. brown sugar, 1 level Tbsp cinnamon, ½ c.
chopped nuts and ¾ c. raisins. Sprinkle oblong dough with melted margarine and add filling. Roll up in jelly roll style. Cut into one inch slices. Place in pans. Rise one hour. Ice with 1 c. powdered sugar and few drops milk. Spread over rolls while warm. Bake at 375 for 20 minutes.
