Ingredients

1cupSquash -- cooked
1Egg -- beaten
cupFlour
cupCornmeal
1teaspoonBaking powder
½teaspoonSalt -- or more
dashPepper
1mediumOnion -- grated
cupCooking oil

Directions

Combine squash and egg. Add all other ingredients except oil and mix until well blended. Heat oil for deep frying. Drop batter by level tablespoonful into hot oil. Deep fry until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
