Southwestern chipotle baked beans

Ingredients

3Canned chipotles in adobo, stems removed, chopped
2teaspoonsNew Mexican chile powder
2tablespoonsAdobo sauce
1largeOnion, chopped
2Cloves garlic, chopped
1tablespoonVegetable oil
¼poundsSlab bacon, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
½cupKetchup
½cupBeer or water
¼cupDark brown sugar
1teaspoonDry mustard
3cupsCooked great northern beans

Directions

Saute chipotles, onion, and garlic in oil until soft.

Combine with other ingredients, and mix resulting sauce into the beans.

Bake at 325 degrees for 2 hours, adding water if beans get too dry.
