Sherry cream apple squares

Ingredients

1 cup All-Purpose Flour
½ cup Brown Sugar
4 tablespoons Butter or Margarine
½ cup Chopped Pecans
1 large Or 2 Small Green Apples
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
½ teaspoon Baking Soda
½ cup Sour Cream
½ teaspoon Vanilla
1 Egg
1 cup Whipping Cream
3 tablespoons Powdered Sugar
2 tablespoons Sweet Sherry

Directions

SHERRY GLAZE

1. In a bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, and butter. When mixture is

crumbly, stir in pecans. 2. Press 1¼ cups of mixture into a lightly buttered 8-by-8-inch baking pan. 3. Peel, core, and finely chop apples. 4. In a small bowl, combine the cinnamon, baking soda, sour cream, vanilla, and egg. 5. Stir mixture into remaining flour mixture.

Then stir in apples. 6. Spoon over the pressed-out crust. 7. Bake at 350øF for about 30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.

Cool slightly. 8. Beat whipping cream until it begins to thicken.

Gradually beat in

sugar and sherry. 9. Serve large, warm squares of dessert with a dollop of sherry cream.
