Scalloped celery and tomatoes

Measure Ingredient
\N \N Outer stalks of celery
\N \N Tomatoes; (canned or fresh)
1 teaspoon Chopped onion
\N \N Salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons Grated cheese
\N \N Bread crumbs or cracker crumbs
\N \N Melted butter

Thoroughly wash celery and cut into half-inch lengths. butter a baking dish; put in a layer of celery, then a layer of tomatoes. Season with onion, salt and pepper. Repeat, sprinkle with cheese. Cover with crumbs moistened with butter. Bake in hot oven until browned.
