Pickling liquid

Quantity Ingredient
3 cups Distilled white vinegar
1 cup Water
cup Sugar
¼ cup Salt
teaspoon Whole allspice
1 (3-inch) cinnamon stick
teaspoon Celery seeds
teaspoon Mustard seeds
teaspoon Whole black pepper corns

Place all of the ingredients in a nonreactive saucepan, over high heat. Bring the mixture to a boil, reduce heat to medium and simmer for 30 minutes. Remove from the heat and cool completely.
