Overnight apple french toast

1 cup Packed brown sugar
½ cup Butter or margarine
2 tablespoons Light corn syrup
2 larges Apples
\N \N Tart, peeled and sliced 1/4\"

3 eaches Eggs
1 cup Milk
1 \N Teaspooon
9 slices French bread -- day-old 3/4\"
\N \N Thk
\N \N SYRUP:
1 cup Applesauce
1 \N Jar apple jelly -- 10 oz.
½ teaspoon Ground cinnamon
⅛ teaspoon Ground cloves
\N \N Vanilla extract

In a small saucepan, cook brown sugar, butter and syrup until thick, about 5-7 minutes. Pour into an ungreased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in.

baking pan; arrange apples on top, in a mixing bowl, beat eggs, milk and vanilla. Dip bread slices into the egg mixture for 1 minute; place over apples. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Remove from the refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Bake, uncovered, at 350 deg.
