Onion soup (cooks garden)

| 4 | cups | Sliced onions |
| 1 | tablespoon | Butter |
| 2 | quarts | Homemade beef stock |
| 4 | tablespoons | White wine |
| Cheese | ||
| Homemade French bread | ||
Directions
Saute onions in butter til soft and golden. Add onions to beef stock and simmer 1 hour. Season with white wine and salt and pepper to taste.
Bake cheese-topped slices of French bread in a 350 F degree oven til browned. Place a slice in each soup bowl, add hot soup, and enjoy.
