Meatballs and shells stew

Ingredients

½poundsGround beef
¼cupUncooked long-grain rice
1Egg, beaten
teaspoonBlack pepper
cupWater
1can(14 1/2 oz.) whole tomatoes, broken up
1Envelope ( 1 oz.) onion soup mix
½teaspoonItalian seasoning
¼teaspoonDried thyme leaves
¼teaspoonGarlic powder
½cupSmall shell pasta

Directions

In a medium bowl, combine ground beef, rice, egg and black pepper. Shape into 1 inch meatballs and place on a baking sheet or piece of waxed paper; set aside.

In a medium saucepan, combine water, tomatoes, onion soup mix, Italian seasoning, thyme and garlic powder. Bring to a boil. Carefully drop the meatballs into the boiling stew mixture and gently stir in shell pasta.
