Ingredients

| ½ | cup | Shortening |
| 2 | Eggs | |
| 1 | cup | Sour milk |
| 2 | teaspoons | Baking soda |
| 2 | teaspoons | Vanilla |
| 2½ | cup | Flour |
| ½ | cup | Cocoa |
| 1 | cup | Boiling water |
Directions
Cream sugar and shortening, add eggs, cream again. Add remaining ingredients, one at a time, in order given. Pour into a greased and floured large pan or layer pans. Bake in a moderate oven for 40-45 minutes.
