Ingredients

1Green bell pepper; f/chopped
1Celery stalk; finely chopped
2Garlic cloves; minced *

4poundsLean ground beef
2Stewed tomatoes; 14 1/2oz cn
1Tomato sauce; 15-oz can
1Tomato paste; 6-oz can
¼cupGreen chili salsa
1Jalapeno; finely chopped
¾cupChili powder
14-oz can diced green chilies
½cupWater
1teaspoonSalt

Directions

In Dutch oven, saute first four starred ingredients in hot oil until tender. Add meat, 1 pound at a time, stirring until meat loses redness. Drain; add water. Add remaining ingredients, stirring after each addition. Simmer 2½ to 3 hours, stirring frequently. Season to taste with garlic salt and pepper, if desired.
