1 cup | Wheat flour |
3 tablespoons | Nonfat dry milk |
1 pack | Yeast |
1 teaspoon | Salt |
2 tablespoons | Honey |
2 tablespoons | Oil |
1 cup | Hot water (120-130 deg f) |
1 tablespoon | Wheat germ |
In a large mixer bowl, mix ½ c bread flour with all the wheat flour and dry milk, yeast, salt, honey and oil. With mixer on low speed, mix until smooth. With mixer still going, add hot water and contuinue mixing until smooth. Add remaining flour slowly, then mix at high speed until smooth.
Pour batter into a greased 1½ quart cassrole dish. Place in warm area to rise, letting batter double in size. Bake at 375 deg f for 25 to 30 minutes or until wooden skewer comes out clean. Makes 1 loaf (about 10 servings).
NOTE: for finer texture bread let rise in bowl, then punch down and place in greased cassrole to rise again.
