|---|---|---|
| 1¼ | cup | Stearic acid (powder) |
| 12 | ounces | Glycerin |
| ½ | ounce | Strong ammonia (28% or stronger) (1 Tbsp.) |
| ½ | teaspoon | Borax powder (99% pure) |
| ½ | teaspoon | Paraffin wax; grated |
| 16 | ounces | Warm water; (2 c.) |
| Perfume and color to suit** | ||
Directions
**I use 2 teaspoons of perfumed body lotion and 1 to 2 drops of red food color. Put stearic acid, glycerin and wax in a "crock" on low heat, until all is well melted. Then add the ½ ounce of ammonia and stir fast with a wooden spoon (this will look a little milky). Have Borax dissolved in warm water; add, stir and immediately start beating (on low speed). Take off stove and beat until it looks like whipped cream. When cool, add perfume and color. Note: Use no metal (plastic measures or glass are fine).
