3 tablespoons | Brandy or dark rum |

1 cup | Apples;peeled & sliced |
1 cup | Walnuts |
2 teaspoons | Orange rind, chopped |
2 teaspoons | Lemon rind, chopped |
1 teaspoon | Nutmeg |
1 teaspoon | Ginger |
¼ teaspoon | Cloves |
1½ cup | Dry bread crumbs |
2 teaspoons | Baking powder |

Mince the suet finely. Add the sugar and mix. Beat in the egg yolks.
Stir in the milk and brandy/rum. Run the dates and apples through a grinder and add. Crush the walnuts on a flat surface with a bread roller and add together with the minced rind and spices. Add the crumbs and baking powder and mix. Whip the egg whites until stiff and fold in. Pour the batter into a greased mold, no more than ⅔ full and steam 4 hours. Submitted By JIM WELLER On 05-04-95
